Kate fue nominada al Oscar nuevamente

El presidente de la Academia de Artes y Ciencias Cinematograficas, Frank Pierson, y la ganadora del Oscar a la Mejor Actriz Secundaria 2001, Marca Gay Harden, leyeron la lista de nominados a las principales categorías.  La primera de ella fue la de Mejor Actriz Secundaria, en la que destacaron tres británicas: Maggie Smith y Hellen Mirren (por "Gosford Park") y Kate Winslet por IRIS. Esta es la tercera nominación de Kate, que ya había competido por sus actuaciones en "Sense and Sensibility" y "Titanic".

Judi Dench y Jim Broadbent también recibieron nominaciones por IRIS, en las categorías de Mejor Actriz y Mejor Actor, respectivamente. La lista completa de nominados incluye un buen número de británicos, que parecen querer invadir la ceremonia de la Premios de la Academia este año. Los premios Oscar se entrgarán el próximo 24 de marzo en el Teatro Kodak de Hollywood.
